Reading bell hooks with Riven

Riven is a champion usually played top lane, but we have seen her mid and jungle. The point of this text is to explore the lore and how justice and change are portrayed in Ionia. We will base this analysis in "Confessions of a Broken Blade" and bell hooks, to be precise most of the ideas present in "The Will to Change"

Riven is often portrayed as a vicious and brutal character. Her name means "brutally divided".

Dicitonary.com also gives us the following definition of the word rive:

"to rend, harrow, or distress (the feelings, heart, etc.)."

We can interpret this as someone being divided between Noxus and Ionia, but also that her feelings are broken. But if you have played Riven you know that what is broken can be reforged, so let's see how her story is about change, redemption and healing.
